There is new firmware available for your Netgear WNDR3800 router.
Firmware Version .51 for the Netgear WNDR3800 is a Charter-specific firmware build that includes technology designed to give Charter's customer service support personnel visibility into a the conditions affecting a customer's home network. It will collect and maintain certain information regarding access to and use of the Home Network, including without limitation device identifiers, device name, device type, applications and protocols, connections, and traffic flows. Such information will be used by Charter to provide Charter Internet Services and related support service, as well as internal business analytics regarding a customer's use of the Charter Internet Services.
By installing such firmware, Customer acknowledges and agrees that Charter shall have access to the network name and password associated with Customer's router in order to provide support and diagnostic services.
Customer's router may be a Charter or Customer-owned device. Once firmware version .51 is installed on Customer's device, it will no longer receive updated firmware from Netgear (if made available). If Customer owns his/her router device, Customer may perform a factory reset of the device to return to the original Netgear firmware upon disconnection from Charter's Service.
